Influence of electrochemical discharge machining parameters on machining quality of microstructure

As a nontraditional processing technology, electrochemical discharge machining (ECDM) can process glass and engineering ceramics precisely. This technology has proven to be potential for 3D microstructure. However, the key expanding application of ECDM is how improve accuracy. research conducted micro-hole microgroove machining. Power voltage frequency influence on hole efficiency, entrance diameter, limit depth was explored. We considered four factors affecting ECDM—the pulse power supply, tool electrode feed rate, rotation speed. studied their roughness microgrooves. The results show that micro-holes increased with increase in but decreased frequency. microgrooves an apparent positive correlation voltage. In contrast, it had evident negative bottom surface as minor 0.605 μm. Various complex microstructures by layer-by-layer method proved great ECDM.
